IN exercise of tile: powers conferred by $<!:ction 374 of the Me«:hant

Shipping Act , 1973, the Mini$tcr for Transpon and Com munications,

with the concurrence 01 the Ministe r of Finance , has made the following

reguia tions:_

I. ( I) "These regulations may be cited as the MerthaDl Shipping 01>1.,..

(Fees) (A mendmen t) Regulations. ]992 and shall be read and

oonstrued as one wilh liIe Merehanl Silipping (Fe~) Rcgl1lations, ]973. t..1'< . ... of lm .

hereinalter referred to as ~ lile priocipal regulations-.

(2) "These regulations silaH come into force on the 1st

January. ]993.

Din:ctorate of Men:hant Shipping of the Malta Maritime

Authority . hereinafte r referred to as the normal hours . inuhje<:t to

a fee as specified hereunder

(a) if the service started during normal houl"$ and finished

within onc hour .ftn oormalhours - LmlO ;

(b) if the service started within one hour before normal

hours and finished during normal houl"$ - LmIO;

(c) otherwise , LmIO per hour or part thereof subject to a

minimum of three hours, SO however lhat if the service is give n on

any day between 2100 hours and 0700 houn. or at any time on

Saturdays. Sundays and Public Holicb)'$ the rate per hour or part

Pro vided that other additional fees for the provision of

li/:rvices outside of the offICes of the Dire.;torale of Merchant

Shipping of the Malta Maritime Authority or outside harbour or

outside Malta may be established by the Registrar·General at his

discretion. ".
