IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 'll of the Public

Tra nsport Authority Act , 1989, the Public Transport Authority , with

the consent of the Min ister for Transport and Communications, has

made the followinl regulalionl.:-

I. These relulalions may be cited as the Public Transport

Enforcement Office.n <Duti~ and Po_rs) ReJUlatioos, 199'2.

11Ie Authority may appoint Enforcement Officen for the

management and $upervUion of public transport !lCrvloes and for the

maintenance and enforoemenl or discipline on tho5c !lCrvloes.

Without prej udice 10 the lenerality of the foregoing

regulation, Enforoe.ment Officen shall hive the duty and the power to

<a) stop any public transport vehicle nr sea-craft. whether

lw.:h vehicle or !lCa-craft il carrying passe ngers or nOI . and to carry

out random inspedions on the &aid ve hicles or sea-craft , includinl

inspections of all lioences and other documents relating to such

vehicle or sea-craft;

(b) order the alighting or carrying of passengers from 01"00

any public transport vehicle or sea-craft.;

(c) order any public transport vehicle , ordinarily \iocnsed to

ope rate any scheduled transport service.. to TUn for such time and

under such <.:Qnditioos as the needs of I particular scheduled service

may require, and to give an y such other orders and directives as

may. in their opinion. be nCClellSary for the efficient performance of

any particular scheduled transport sel"li«: at a given time;

(d) give such orders and directives as may . in their opinion,

be neccuary for the implementation of the roster allocation issued

in respect of any public transport service;

(e) order the temporary withdrawal from 5Cl"lice of any

public transport vehicle or IICI-craft, for the purpose of an

Immediate submission for a tcst;

(f) order the a!lending to a mechanical test in ",It'h manner as

m.y be ordered by the Public Transport Au thority

(,) order the removal of unauthorised adve rt isi ng from any

public transport vehide Of sea-craft;
