(C AP. 31)

Training School for Reglsttrtd (General) Nurses (Amendment)

IN exercise of the powers conferred by seelion 80 of Ihe Medica l

and Kindred Professions Ordi nance , Ihe Minisler for Social Policy, on

Ihe advice of the Nursing and Mid wifery Board , has made the following

regulations:-

These regulations may be cited as the Training School for

Registered (General) Nurses (Amendment) Regulations, 1991, and

shall be read and construed as one with the T raining School for

Registered (General) Nurses Regulalions, 1986, he reinafte r referred to

as ~the principal regulations~ .

Immediately after paragnlph (2}of regulation 9 of the principal

regulations there shall be added the following new paragnl ph: -

··(3) Notwi thstanding the provisions of paragraphs ( I) and

(2) of this regulation, it shall be lawful for the Principal Nursi ng

(I) The provisions of these regulations need not

apply to any Di ploma Course for Registered Nurses

organised and run by the InS\itute o f Health Care o f the

University of Malta or by any school recognised by the

Nursing and Midwifery Board if the saKI Board is sa tisfied

with the conditions for admission 10 the oourse and wi th the

curriculum and assessments and exarninalions o f the said

course.

(2) The Chairman ofthe Nuningand Midwifery

Board shall issue a certifiCate to successful candidates from

the course refe rred 10 in paragraph. (I) of this regulation for

the purpoess of section 14 of the Medical and Kind red

Professions Ordina nce.
