IN e)lcrcise of the powers conferred by section 80 of the Medical

and Kindred Professions Ordinance, lhe Minister for Social Policy, on

the advice of the Nursing and Midwifery Board, has made tbe following

regulatiOfls;-

I. These reBula tions may be cited as the Training School for

Enrolled Nurses ( Amendme nt ) Regula tions, 1991 , and shall be read

and construed as one wi th the Training School for En rolled Nurses

RegulD lio ns, 1986, hereinafter refe rred to as Mthe principal

regulal ions~.

2, Immediately after paragraph (2)of regulation 90f tb( princitnJ

regulations there shall be added the following new paragraph: -

M(3) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraphs (1) and

(2) o f this regulation , it shall be lawfu l for the Principal Nursing

Tutor to uercise discretion and permi t minor deviations from such

schedu le if such deviations do nOI affeCl adversely the train ing o f

the pupil nurses. M,

J. In paragraph (2) of regula tion 19 of Ihe principal regulations,

for th e words Mscction 67A" there shall be substituted the words

"section 75",

Immediately afler regulation 20 of the principal regulations,

the re shall be added the following new regulati on:-

( I) The provisions o f th ese regulations need nOl

apply to any certificate courx for Enroll ed Nurses o rganised

and run by the Inst itute of Health Care of the University of

Malta or by an y school recognised by the Nursing and

Midwifery Board if the said Board is satisfied with the

conditions for admission to the course and wi th the

curriculum a nd assessments a:ad examinations of me saiJ

course.

(2) The Chai rma n of the Nursi ngand Midwifery

Board shall issue a ce rtificate 10 successful candidates from

the course referred 10 in pa ragraph (1) of this regulation for

the PUrpo5C5 of section 75 of the Medical and Kindred

Professions Ordinance.
