IN exercise o rlh e 1JO""ers ,onfcrred upo n him by sections 28(5) and

29(6) of the Educat ion A t"!. 1988. the Chancellor of the U ni versi ty of

Malla has promulgated the following regulations made by t he Sena te of

the Unive rsit y of Malla in vi rtue o f the 1JO""ers conferred upon il by

section 33 of the said Act.

These Regulations may be cited as the Regulat ions for the Degree

of Bachelor of Pha rmacy (Honours) - B.Pharm .(llo ns.). and sha ll be

a ppli c~bl e only to the course wh~h started in February 1987.

No subject may be offe red at both' A ' and '0' Levels.

6, (a) In each subject o f the Pan [ Enmination the names o f candi dates who

passed the eu minatio n will be published in al pha betical o rde r in each of four groups,

A , 5 , C and 0, according to thcir standard o f merit. A ca nd idate whose name does no t

appear in any of the four groups will be considered 10 have failed the examination in the

sUbfect conce rned .

(b) The published result o f the exa min ation in caeh subject will ta ke into

accou nt all parts o f the nom ination in tha t subject, as we ll as the wor k ca rried out

du ring the course.

At the e nd o f each se mes te r of the Second and Third Ye ars of the Course

Progress Tests will be hehJ in the subj ects covered in the Second and Thi rd Years

respect ively.

A ca ndidate will only be allo wed to proceed to the Thi rd and Fo urth years o f

the Cou rse if the Faculty Boa rd assesses his performance in Progress Tests as being of a

pass stanoard .

(a) In the first session of the Exa mination at the end of the Fina l Year, a

candidate ""ho take$ all six subjects o f the Examina tion may be referred in onc or twO

subjects. A list of such candida tes will be published indicating the su bjcct in which each

candidate has becn refe rred.

(b) A clllldidate who has bee n refe rred in onc or Iwo subjeets may take !hc

examinatio n in those subjects at a second session. If he then passes the exami nati ons in

those subje.:ts. hi s name will be includ ed in the li st of those who have passed the Final

Examination as a whole . If he fails. he will be deemed to hove fai led t he Final

Examinat ion and will be re·admitted by the Faculty Board into the Final Year of the

CoUr.lt:.

No candidate will be permined, except by leave ofSenal e granted for speda l

reasons. to take the Final E.am inatio n later than six years afler first joining the Course

of Pharmacy.

During the period July 1990 to February 1991 st udents in thi s Course will be

requi red to carry out Ph armacy Practi ce.
