Exemption Order (No. 2). 1991

BY virlLle of the powers vested in him by subsection (2) of section 9

of the Death alld Do nation DLlly Act. the Min ister of Fi na nce has

ordered that with effect from 1st Dece mbe r. 1989 no duty. otherwise

chargeable o n any e ntitl ement to a paymellt under any con tract of life

insurance. as specified in sub- paragraph (v) of paragraph (a ) or

subsection (I) of seaion 6 of the said Ad . shaH be levied

Provided that this exe mption shall ope rate only whe re th e perwn

fro m wh om the chargeable transmission originates ... ·as residen t in

Malt a and his death has o«urrcd under tragic and accidental

circ umstance s in the actual discharge of his duty.
