Loans (Registered Stock and Securities) Ordinance, Cap. 161 , tbe
Minister of Finance has authorised th at the sum of Lml,OOO,OOO 3%
Beare r Debentures 1996 (Fifth Issue) be created and issued as
follows: -
I. The Debentures shall be issued in multiples of Lm500 at the
9th September, 1991 at 9.00 a. m . and shall close at 12.00 noon, Friday,
the 20th September, 1991 or earlie r at the discretion of the Accountant
General .

The sum of money to be raised by the Debenlllres shall be

Interest shall be payable in arrear annually on the 21st day of
September of every year during the currency of the Debenture. The first
payment of LmJ.OO ,O per LmlOO Debenture covering the period from
the 22nd September 1991 to the 21st day of Septembe r, 1992, shall be
made on the 21st day of September, 1992.
of. A half-yearly appropriation of not less than LmIO,OOO out of
the general re venue and assets of the Government o f Malta shall be
made as a contribution to the sinking fund established for the purpose of
redeeming the Debentures. The first contribution shaH be made within
three years from the 22nd day of Septe mber , 1991.
The Debentures shall be redeemed at par on the 21st
Septe mber, 1996 as determined by the Accountant General and no tified
in the Gazette . Debenture redemption moneysshalJ onl y be payable on
the surrender of the Debentu re issued.
