In these regulations. unless the con text othe rwise requires

"DircclOr" mea ns the Director o f Agriculture and Fi~he ries

and includes any officer of the depa rtment duly au thorised by the

director to act on his beha lf;

"10 fa ll e n" mea ns 10 keep fish from lhe: fingerting stage to

market size

"to rear" means to breed aod rear up to the fingerling stage

and includes the !!CUing of brood stock

"to kei:p" includes 10 rea r and to fauen;

"fish" includes fin fish. molluscs and crustaceans. whether

fresh or sc a·water.

The min imum disIDnce between any two fish farms shall be one

kilometre. provided that Ihe Director may establish a greater distance at

his discretion acoording to lit(: particular cireumstancesof each case.

IQ. No extensions or alterations in any licensed place may be

carried ou l un less previously authorised by the Director.

for farming unless he ha'! obtained pennission to do so in wriling from

the Directo r. A Healtll Certificate from the poinl of origin may be

requ ired.
