Regulations for Ihe Do:gr«> of Rachelor of Science (T~hnology) - D.Sc.

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon him byseeliO JlS 28(5) and

29(6) of the Educa tion Act, 1988, the Chancellnr of the University of

Malta has promu lgated the following Regulations made by the Se nateof

the University of Malta in virtue of the powers confe rred upon it by

sect ion 33 of tile said Act:-

These Regulations may be cited as tile Regulat ions for the Degree

of Bachelor nf Science (Technology) (B.Sc,(Teeh.» and shall be

applicable on ly 10 the course which started in October 1987 ,

Admission

To be eligible for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Science

(Technology) a candidate must

(a)

satisfy the entry requircments in accordance with Regulation 3 below

(b) completc the course of studies. qualify in the examinations. and satisfy any

other requirements prescribed in these and any othe r relevant Regulations or

Stat ules of the Universit y.

second year and will be examirted by a Board of ExamillCl'1i who may. allhei r discre lion.

6.3 TIle Final Examina tion will be held al the cnd of the Seoond Year of the

COUTSC. There will be 110.'0 sessions of Ihis examination . The first session will be held in

May a nd the second session will be held in September.

6.4 A candidate will be required to take all the subje<:ls of Ihe Final Exam ination

in one Sel;sion unless he take<; the Examinalions as proltided for in Regulations 6.7 and

6.8.

6.5 The published resul t of the examination in each subject will take intoaccoont

all paft s of the e~aminat ion in Ihat subject. as well as Ihe work carried out during the

course .

6.6 The resull will show the names of Ihe candidd le5 I"hoqualfiy for the award of

Ihe B.Sc.(Tech.) Degree, in alphabetical o rder in a list di"idcd into the categories I.

6.7 In the fi rst session of the Examina tion at the end of the Final Yea r. a

candidate who takes an fi.'e subjects of tile E.lI:amination may be referred in one or IWO

SUbjects. A list of such candida tes will be published indicat ing the subjC(Ct in which each

candidate has been referred.

6.8 A candidate who has been referred in one or twO subjects may take the

examina tions in those subjects at a second session. If he Ihen passes the examinations in

those subjects, hi s name will be included in the list of those who have passed the Final

Exami na tion. Uhe fails. he wi ll be re-admiued by!he Facult y Board. once only. into the
