IN e~ercise of th e powers conferred by sections 3 and 4 of the

Government wueries Act. 198 1. the Ministe r of Finance has made the

following regulatioru:-

I. ( I) ll1ese regulations may be cited as the Government

Lotteries (S uper Fi ve) (Amendment) Regulat ions, 1990. and shall be

read and construed as one with the Government Lolleries (Supe r Five )

Regulations. 1990. herei nafter referred to as "the principal L.ro . loil990.

regulations~ .

(2) These regulations shall come into force on the 14th

March , 1990 and shall apply with regard to the lottery draw of the 2 1st

March. 1990 and to subsequent draws.

For paragraph (5) of regulation 7 of the principal regu lalions -~

there shall be substituted the following

"(5) A ticket which has been recorded as void on the data ""ut"ioM.

ca pturing media of the main computer shall be deemed as void and

of no validity in clai ming a prize, and the staker shall have noclaim

against the De partment and/or the agent. whether such void

recording is attributable to the staker. o r to a malfunction of the

computersystem. or by reason of an operato r and/or agent elTQf. -.

Regulation 8 of th e principal regulations shall be amended as '_0

[ollows:-

(a) for paragraph (1) thereof. th ere shall be substituted the

following:-

"(I) From the total amount of sales made in respect of

each game . ten percentum (10%) of such amount shall be

allocated for commissions due to age nts and fOf subsidies that

may be allocated for sporting activities or any such activities as

the Mini ster may detennin e from time to tim e. Forty-five

percentum (45% ) of total sales shall be allocated and paid by

the Departme nt to a prize fund. and th e prize fund shall be

distributed as follows

Division I - Thirty- fi ... e percentum (35%) of the

prize fund

Division 2 - Thirty percenlum (30% ) of the prize

fund ;

Division 3 - Thirty-five percenlum (35 %) of the

pri ze fund.'";

(b) for paragraph. (6) the reof, there shall be substitut ed the

fo llowlng:-

M(6) If in any draw , there is no Division I prize wi nner,

then the lo tal pri ze fund of that Di vision in th at draw shall be

added 10 the sa me Division prize fund of th e next immediat ely

following draw.~; and

for paragraph (8) thereof, there shaH be substitu ted the

M(8) Ifin any d raw the re are no Divisio n 3 pri~e wi nners

then the Division 3 prize fund of that draw will be added 10 the

Division 2 prize fund and shared equall y by all Di vision 2 prize

win ners o f that draw .

(9) Ir in a particula r draw the re are neithe r Division 2

nor Division 3 prize winners, the whole prize funds will be

transferred to the respective prize funds of the nex l following

draw.".
