IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Fish

Industry Act, by section 305 o f the Code of Police Laws, by section 280f

Act No . IX of 1989 and by section 2 of the Fees Ordinance. the Prime

Minister and the Minister of Productive [}cvelopment, with the

concum:nce of the Minister of Finance, have made the following

regu lutions:-

I. These regulations may be cited as the Registra tion of Fish ing

Boats (Amendment) Regu lat ions, 1990 and shall be read and construed

as onc with the Registration of Fishing &ats Regu lations . 1988,

hereinafter refe rred to as ~ th e principal regulationsH.

For paragraphs (2) and (3) of the principal regul ation~ there ,-~

sha ll be substituted the following:-

"(2) Fishin g boats owned by Whole-time fisllerm en shall be "'rul"ions.

marked with IlIe letter "P·.

(3) Fislling boa ts owned by part -time fisherm en who either

se ll fish thro ugh tile Wholesale Fisllmarke t, or who live in Gozo,

shall be marked wit h the letters " MP'.

(4) Fislling boms owned by part- time fishermen 101110 live in

Malta and who do nOt sell fish through the Wllo lClillle Fisllmarket.

shall be mar ked wi th the lellers "PTF".

(5) The lellers "F", " MP' 31ld " PTF" shall always be

followed by tile boats' respective registration numbers, and both

such letters and numbers shall be o f such sire as indicated on the

licence issued by the Director, and shall be di splayed on both sidCli

of the bow:'.
