Marking of Gold a nd Sliver Articles Exemption Ord er . 1990

BY virtue of the powers vested in him by wbsection (3) of section

3 of the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths O rdinance. the Ministe r o f

Finance has ordered thaI , wi th effect from the 10th Jul y, 1990, and

until (urthe r notice. the provisions o f subsect ion (1) of section 3 of the

said O rdinance, in so rar as the y relate to tile marking of gold a nd

silve r anicles with the appropriate Government stamp showing the

standard of fineness of the SOld and silver used in their manufacture.

This exemption is subject 10 the following conditions:-

(a) The ~d Company shall otherwise fully comply at all

times with th e provisions of th t said Ordinance and of the

Regula tions, Ru les and Orders made the reunder;

(b) The Company shall funhermopre comply with the

provisklns of the Gold (O:m lToI) Regulations, 1948

(c) A return of the Compan y's stock shall be submi lled to

the Commissione r of Inland Reve nue in respect of each month

and nOl later than three days afte r the last day o f the month

(d) A stll temen t of the Company's imponed lInd npon ed

items shall likewise be submiued to the Commissioner of lnlalld

Revenue ; and

(e) Full access shall be afforded by the Company to th e

Commissioner o f Inland Revenue or his representatives to ca rry

out inspections and physical ~ks of ilS stocks al sueh times a nd

intervals as may be dee med ncccssary.
