Afrain . with the concurrence of the Minister o f Finance, has made the

following rcgulations:-

I. These regulations may be cited as the Promotion of Local

Manufactu res (Applications 10 Board) Regulations. ]990.

any person or organisation in oon n«:tion with measures that may be

take n by the Mini ster for the promotion of Maltese: goods under the Act

(a) Firsl Schedule to these: regulations for applying to the

Board for the introduction of measures to promote Maltcsc goods,

(2) A fee of Lm 10 shall be paid in respeel of each application

on a pres<:ribed form submill~d to the Board by manufacturers or by

importers. Fees shall under no circumstances be refunded .

4 . (I) The Board may requeSt such information, inspect such

books and ot her documents and carry out or o rder such inspectwns of

premises as may reasonably be: considered ncccs.sary 10 e nable il to carry

out its functions.

(2) The Board may se:t time limits for compliance wi th any

requests it may make in accordance with pa ragraph (\) of this

regulali on .

(3) The Board may consider an appl ication on a prescribed

form to bave been withdrawn if tbeperson makingsucb applica tion does

no t comply with any final time limit which the Board may set for tbe

submission of any information , books or other documents connected

with his applica tion.

(I ) Any person who contrave nes any proViSIon of the

Supplies and Services Act or of any regulations made thereunder wh kh Cap. Ll1

are exercised by the Minister in virtue of the provisions of subsection

(4) of section S of the Act shall, on co nviction. be liable 10 a fi ne

(m u/ta) of not more than five thousand liri, or to a term of imprisonment

of not more than six months, o r 10 both such fine and imprisonment

toge ther.

(2) Whosoever, in o rder 10 gain any advantage o r benefit

for himself or others , o r in o rder 10 place in any disadvantage any

other person, shall. in any document in tended for the Boord . knowingly

make a false declaration or statemenl, or give false information, for

the purposes of regulations 3 and 4 of these regulations , shall, o n

conviclion, be liable 10 a fine (mulla) of no t more than one thousand

liTi or imprisonment for a te rm of not mo re than one month, or to

bot h such fine and imprisonment together.
