IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of the

Engineeri ng Profession Act, 1988. the Min iste r for Development of

Infrastructure, afler consul ling the Engineering Boa rd. has made the

following regulations:-

I. The5e regulations may be cited as the Engineering Profession

(Application for the Iss ue of a Warran t) Rcguialions, 1990, and lihall

come into fOTce on the 1st September, 1990.

" Minisler~ means the Minister responsible for in irastructu re;

" warranl" means a warrant to practise the profession of

engineer issued by the Minister on the recommendation of the

Board in terms of section 3 of the Act; and ~warrant holde r" shall

be construed acoordingly.

( I) Th e prescribed fonn for the application in writing from

any person for the issue of a warrant shall be in accordance wi th the fonn

set out in the Schedule to these regulat ions. and any reference to a

prC5CTibed form shall be construed as a reference to the form in the said

Schedule.

(2) 111e prescribed fonn together with all relat ive original

docum ents, o r copi es thereof, as may ~ required by the Board, shall be

submitted to the Secretary thereof by the applicant personally who shall

also produce adequat e documents of identi fication and nationality .

(3) A lee of Lm5 shall be paid by a professional engineer to

the Board in respect oflhe iss ue o f an original warran t, and a fee ofLm2

sha ll be paid in respect oflhe issue of eaeh copy of the o rigi nal warrant.

(I) The Board may req uest such inform ation and in spect

such projects, schemes and oth er docume nts as may reasonably be

considered necessary to enable it to carry o ut its functions.

(2) The Board ma y set time limits for com pliance with any

rcquests it may make in accordance with paragraph (1) of this

regulat ion .

(3) Th e Board may oonsider an appl ication on a prescribed

form to have been withdrawn if the applica nt does not comply with any

final time limit which the Board may $Ct for the submission of any

informat ion relative to his professional and academic quali fications

referred to in paragraph (I) of this regulation.
