Dairy Farltl!l (Amendmtnt) Regulations, 1989

IN exercise oft he powers conferred by sections 16, 42 and 440hile

Food , Drugs and Drinking Wller Act , 1972, the Minister for Social

Policy. on the adyicc of the Council of Heal th. has made t he following

~gulalions:-

11lese regulations may be cited as the Dairy Fanns

(Amendment) Regulations , 1989, and shall be read and construed as

onc with the Dairy Farms Regulations , 1976, hereinafter referred to as

"the pri nci pal regulations~,

Immediately afu:r pa ragraph (2) ofregulation Jof theprincipat

reg\llations, there shall be added the following new paragraphs: -

M(3) The Supe rin tende nt of Public Heal th may, prior 10 the

issue, or al any lime du ring the currency o f a licence grant ed in

terms o f these regulations. require the lice nsee or any member of

lIis household or any otller pe!Wn workin g on th e dairy farm ,to

submit himself to sucll medical examination o r medical

in vestigations as he may deem appropriate , and it shall be the dUly

of any pe rson in respect of whom such request is made , to submit

himsc:lf to such examination or investigations.

(4) The Superintendent of Pu blic Health may refuse to

gran t or renew such licence, and may e ve n cancel any such licence if

there is refusal o n the part of any person . in respect of wllom such

request is made , to submit himself to such exami nation or

investigations, or if it resul ts that any such person is suffering or

may be suffering from a disease communicable to the animals

prese nt on sucll fa nn . or to man.".
