IN exercise of the powers confe rred by section 93A of the Social

Security Ac!. 1987, the Min iste r for Social Policy. with IlK: conculTence

of the Minister of Finance. has made Ihe following Order:-

(I) This Order may be dted as lhe Eme rgency Assislance

Order. 1989.

(2) Tb is O rder shall be deemed to have come into force on

the 7t h January. 1989.

A,female. who is or has been ren~~d destitute by the head of

J. TIle maximum amount of assistance in cash to which a female

than 10 oonsecutive weeks or excced Lm 100 in the aggresate during any

calendar year without the approval of the Social Assistance Board

established in tenns of sections 132 and 133 of the Social Security Act.
