4. For regulation 13 of the pnndpal regulations there shall be
substituted the following -

Provided further that 110 student who .... ·iII have
failed for the third time in the Preliminary Ex ami nnt ion will
be allowed to continue the COUTl;e of st udies.
(2) For the purposes of this regulation , and of
regulation ]5 of these regulatio ns. absence from an
exa mi nation o r from any pa rt thereof shall be deemed to be
a failu re at that examination or part thereof. M,
5. Fo r sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph 2 of rcgulutioll 18 of the
prillcipal regulations. the re shall be substi tuted the fo llowing -
"(8) a Prineipa] Medical Offi cer. or a Senior Mcdkal Officer.

Regulation 21 of the prilleipa l regulation s stl1ll1 be repealed.

7. The ame ndment effected by regulatioll 2 of the$!: regulations
shall nol be ronsl TlIed as meani ng that the princip.11 reg ul:uions shall
henceforth appl y only to male stude nts. and the pro visions of paragraph
( b) of section" of the Inte rpre tation Ac!. ]975. mall apply 10 the
principal regulations as amended by these regulatio ns.
