IN uercise o f the powers confe rred by section 6 of the Prisons Act,

1976, the Deputy Prim e Minister and Minister of the Interior and

Justice has made the foll owing regulations:-

(1) The$e regulations may be ci ted as the Corradi no Civil

rtisons (Amendment) Regu latiOll$, 1989 and $ha Jl be rea d and

construed as one with the Corradino Civil Priso ns Regulations, 1931,

hereina fter referred to as ~ Ihe principal regulations".

(2) Th ese regulations mall come into force o n the day

immedia tely following the date of thei r publication in the Gazette.

regulations, there &hall be added the following regulation

222A. The Prison Service is adisciplined force in terms
