IN cl<ercise of the powers con ferred by section 7 of the Public

Libraries Ordinan ce . the Min ister of Education has made the followi ng

rcgu lations:-

I. (I) These regulations may be cited as the National M ~lla

Library (Amendment) Regu lat ions. 1989. and shall be read and

construed as one with the Royal Malta Libra ry Regulations. published

by Government Not ice No. 82 of the 15th February. 1938. as

subsequently ~mcndcd. hereinafter referred 10 as "(he principal

regulations".

These regulalionsshall come into force on Ihe 6th March .

1989.

The principal regulations shall henceforth be cited as the

Nat ional Malta Library Regulations. 1938.

J . For regulation 14 of the pr;ncipal regulations there shall be

subst ituted th e followin g

The Library shall be open to the public as follows

(I)

From the IstOctoberofanyycartolhc 15thJuneof

(A)

the next following year

From Mon day 10 Friday -

from 8.1 5 a.m

to S .45

p.m.

Saturday - from 8.15 a.m. to 1.15 p.m.

(IJ)

From the 16th June to the 30th September of an y

year

From Mond ay 10 Saturday - from 8 . 15 a.m. 10 1.1 5

p.m.

(2) The Library will be dosed on Su ndays and public

hohdays. The Li brarian may. with the approval of the Ministe r

responsible fo r publ ic lib raries. direCtlhat the Library. or any part

thereof. be dosed for any specific period no t exceeding fifteen

consecutive days.·· .
