CUSTOMS ORDINANCE (CAP. 37)

C ustoms (Amendmenli Regulations, 1988

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 80 of the Customs

Ordinance, the Min ister of Finance has made the following

regulations:-

These rcgulation> may be cited as thc Customs (Amendment)

Regulat ions, 19!1S and shall be read and construed as onc with Ihe

Customs Regulations, 1957, hereinafter refe rred \0 as "the principal

regulat ions" ,

Regulation 40 of the principal regu lations shall be amended as

(a) in the proviso to pa ragra ph (I) thereof. for the words "for

two hours." there shall he substituted the words "for two hours;";

(b) immediately after tile proviso to paragraph (I) tllereof,

there shall be added the following new proviso

"Provided further that , when a service is given in Gozo,

there shall be deducted fro m the total amount payahle to the

Co mptroller an amount equivalent 10 the charge fortwo hours

overti me calculated as prescribed in thi s paragraph. ";

(c) in sub-pa ragraph (b) of paragraph (4) the reof. for the

words "per kil ometre." there shall be substituted the words " per

kilometre:": and

(d ) immediately after sub-paragraph (b) of para graph (4)

thereof, there shall be added the following proviso

"Provided that , no charges shall be demanded in respect

of a ll ferry fares bet ween Mal1a and Gozo, ;!Od of kil ometres

travclled in Gozo." ,
