Drugs (Control) (Amendment) Regulations, 1988

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 40A of the Medical

and Kindred Professions Ordinance , the Minister for Social Policy, on

the advice of the Council of Health. has made the following

regulations:-

These regulations may be cited as the Drugs (Control)

(Am endme nt) Regulations, 1988. and shall be read and co nstrued as

one with the D rugs (Control) Regulations, 1985, herei nafter referred

to as "the principal regulations".

For paragraph (1) of regulation 12 of the principal regulations,

there shall be substituted the following -

"(I) No medical practi tioner may issue H prescription for

any preparation consisting of or containing amphetamine, or any

isomer of amphetamine, cathine. fenetylline, Hunitrazepam,

medoqualone,

met haqualone.

methylphenidate,

or

phenmetrazine, or any salts or esters of any such drugs , o r for

any preparation consisting of secobarbital or amobarbital or of a

combination of secobarbital and amobarbita l, in either case in

tablet or capsu le ronn, or in sachet or cachet. or of any salts or

esters thereof in such presentation, unless he has the prior

authorisation in writi ng by the Superintenden!.",
