Mdina (Restriction olaccess a nd transit orvellicles) Regulations, 1988

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 93 of the Code of

Police Laws and by section 16 of the Traffic Regulation Ordinance, the

Commissioner of Police, with the advice of the Traffic Con trol Board,

has made Ihe following regulations:-

These regulations may be ci ted as Ihe Mdioa ( Restriction of ac-

Gazelle.

Notwithstanding the provisiolls of regulation 2

(1) vehicles licenced in the Ilamc of residents of Mdina , bri-

dal cars, ambulances. fire-fighting alld JXllice vehides, hearses, alld

vehicles heillg used by dOClors on call on a person within Mdina,

shall have complete access and transit there in al all times;

(2) commercial vehicles delivering or selling goods within

the city may circulate within Mdina for such purposes between 6.00

a.m. and 1O.30a.m. on all daysother lhan Sundays and other public

holidays;

(3) mini-buses, hired for the conveyance of children attend-

ing schools within Mdina, may circulate within that city between

30 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. and belween 1.00 p.m. and 2.00 p.m. on

schooldays.

4. (1) Notwithstand ing the other provisions of these Regula-

tions, the Comm issioner of Police may grant permission for vehicles to

enter and circulate within the city of Mdina for a specific purpose or

reason with such conditions as the Commissioner of Police may deem

proper to impose.

(2) The pennit referred to in paragraph (1) of this regulation

shall be in writing and shall be displayed within the vehide in such man-

ner Ihat il may be seen and read from outsi de the vehic1eat all times thal

the vehicle is within Mdina.

5. The Mdina (Restriction of access and transit of ve hicles) Regu-

lations, 1982 are hereby revoked.
