Payml'nt of Provisional Tax (P.T. ) (Amendment) Rules, 1988

IN exercise of the powers conferred by ~ubsection (2) of section 62

and subsection (I) of section 79 o f the Income Tax Act. 1948, the

Minister o f Finance has made the following rules:-

I. Thcse rules may be cited as the Payment of Provisional T ax

( P.T.) (Amendmcn t) Rules. 1988, and shall be rcad and construed as

one with the Pay ment of Provisional Tax (P. T .) Rules , 1973, here inafter

referred to as "the principal rules" .

I n paragraph (I) of section 8 of tile principal ru les the re sllall be

add ed tile following proviso

"Provided that tile provisional tax due for the four month

period en ding on the thirty -first December shall be paid by not later

than the twenty- first December.".
