Interest Rates OD Loans aDd Advances Order, 1987

IN exercise of tile powers conferred by section 22 of the Banking

Act, 1970, the Minister of Finance , after consultatio n with the Central

Bank of Mal ta , has made the following order: -

I. This o rder may be cited as the Interest Rates on Loons and

Advances Order, 1987,

cial institutions may charge on loo ns and advances to th e spccifiedclass-

cs ind icated hereunder and, subject to any directives or guidelines as

may be issued by the Central Bank o f Malta from li me to time , shall be

as follows:-

3. The rates of interest shown in the table under paragraph 2 of

this Order shall become effective as follows

(i) On existing loans as from the next anniversary date of th e

loan but not later than 1st July. 1988;

(ii) On existing advan ces on the renewal date or 1st J uly,

]988 whichever is the earl ier

(iii) On new loans and advances wi th effect from 26th

November, \987.
