TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDINANCE (CA P. 105)

Motor Vt hkla' (Amendment) Regulatio .... 1987

IN EXERCISE of tbe powers conferred by soction 16 of the Traffic

Regulation Ord inanlX. Ihe Commissioner of Police. on the advice of

the Traffic Control Boord, bas made the following regulations: _

I. These

regulations may be cited as tbe M<Jtor Vehicles

(AmcndmenO Regulations, 1997, and shall be read and ronstrued as

Q,N. 14 01 . <>48 one with the Motor Vehicles Regulations. 1948, hereinafter referred to

as "the principal regulations",

For regulation 41 of the principal regulations there shall be

~ubstituted the following

"41. The Commissioner of Police may, at any time, suspend

or revoke a driver's licence if

(a) such licence has been suspended or revoked or the

holder thereof has otherwise been deprived of the rig1lt to

drive a motor veh icle by a competent authority of a country

which is a party to a convention or other internatiOllai agree.

ment or arrangement covering the deprivation of the righ t to

drive a motor vehicle. to which the Government of Malta is

also a party; or

(bl the said Commissioner is salisfied that the holder

thereof is phY$ically or medically unable 10 drive a motor

vehicle without risk to the pul>lic.".
