IN exercise of the powers conferred by !ieCtion 4 of the Government

[.Qlleries Act. 1981. the Deputy Prime Minister a nd Minister of F ioaooe

and Customs has made the following ~gulations:_

T'hese ~gulations may be ci ted as the Lotteries (Amendment)

(No. 2) Regulat ioDs. 1986 a nd 5hall be read a nd construed as one wi th

the Government Lotteries RegulatiOIl$. 1981 . hereina fter refcTTed to

as "the principal regulations ".

F or regulation 16 of the principal regulations there shall be

substituted the following

III Any prize which remains unclaimed after the

~ O .. nd lapse of the period prescribed in ~gulation I S of these

1I"':~ regulations shal1 be credited to an account styled "Week ly

Prizeo Fwld. a nd Gra nd LO(lcry Unclaimed Prizes Fund". Any credi t

balancc in the fund a t the cnd 0( September 0( every year

shall be distributed as follows

(a) four.fifl hs of the total amount shall be awarded

as addition al prizes in the Grand LoUery which is held

in December of lhe same year as the Minister may

authorise by NOlice in the Gazette: and

(b) on~fi rth 0( the total amount shall be di6lri·

buted to philanthropic organisations or oth er deservin g

causes as the M inister nlay direct.

(2) A statement of tbe recei pts and expenditure of the

" Weekly and Grand Lotteries Uncl aimed Prizes F und" shall

be published in the Gazelle al the end of each fiDancial
