Exchange Control (Prohibition of Foreign Advertisements)

Order, 1983

IN exercise of the powers conferred by sections 36 and 38 of the

Exchange Control Act, 1972, and all the powers him enabling, the

Minister of Finance has made the following order:-

This order may be cited as the Exchange Control (Prohibition

of Foreign Advertisements) Order, 1983.

In this order, unless the context otherwise requires -

"Act" means the Exchange Control Act, 1972;

"Bank" means the Central Bank of Malta appointed as agent

of the Minister in terms of subsection (8) of section 2 of the Act;

"Minister" does not include the Bank;

" publication" has the same meaning as IS assigned to it m

section 2 of the Press Act, 1974.

The Bank shall not without the specific authority of the

Minister, grant permission in accordance with the Act, for any payment

in oroutside Malta to or for the credit of a non-resident as consideration

for o'r in connection with, the publication outside Malta of any

advertisement.
