THE JUDGES AND MAGISTRATES (SALARIES) ACf, 1962

The Judges and Magistrates (Revision of Salaries) Order, 1982

IN exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2 and 3 of the J udges

and Magistrates (Sa1aries) Act, 1962, hereinafter referred to as "the

Act", the Prime Minister has made the following order:-

l. This order may be cited as the J udges and Magistrates (Re vi-

sion of Sa1aries) Order, 1982, and shall be deemed to have come into

effect on the 1st January, 1982.

There shall be paid in any year to the ho1ders of the offices

specified in the first co1urnn of the Schedule hereto, instead of the

salaries prescribed in sections 2 and 3 of the Act, the annual sa1aries

respectively specified opposite to each such office in the second column

of that Schedule.
