Control of Advertising of Medicinals Regulations, 1981

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 35A of the Medical

and Kindred Professions Ordinance, the Minister of H e a l t h and Environ­

ment, on the advice of the Council of Health, has made the following

regulations:-

l. These regulations may be cited as the Control of Advertising

of Medicinals Regulations, 1981.

(1) It s ha 11 not be lawful for any person to advertise or allow

or p er mi t to be advertised any medicinal preparati on o r any remedy

c1aimed to have a therapeutic or other effect on the human body unless

sp ec ifi c a l l y authorised to da sa by t h e Superintendent of Public Health

on the advice of the C o u ncil of Heal t h .

(2) In granting the authorisation ref e rred to in paragraph (l)

of this regulation, the said Superintendent may impose any condition he

may deem fit, and in particular mayrestrict, modify 01' in any other way

control the presentation and wording of the advertisement.

(3) Any person who advertises or allows to be advertised any

medicinal p r e p a r a tion or remedy, sha11 ensure that the permit num b er

of the Department of Health appears on every a d vert is e m en t
