ORDINANCE (CAP. 148)

Phannacy Board (Elections) (Amelldment) Regulations, 1981

IN exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 5 of the Second

Schedule to the Department of Health (Constitution) Ordinance, the

Phannacy Board, with the approval of the Minister of Health and

Environment, has made the following regulations:-

These regulations may be cited as the Pharmacy Board

(Elections) (Amendment) Regulations, 1981, and shall be read and con­

strued as one with the Pharmacy Board (Elections) Regulations, 1969,

hereinafter referred to as "the principal regu]ations".

Regulation 3 of the pdncipal regulations shall be amended as

follows

(a)

the present provision shall be renumbered as paragraph

(1) thereof;

(b)

in paragraph ( l) thereof, for the words "one of whom

shall be an assistant apothecary" there shall be substituted the

words "two of whom shaH be apothecaries and one an assistant

apothecary";

the proviso to paragraph (1) thereof shall be deleted, and

(c)

(d)

immediate1y after paragraph (1) thereof there shall be

added the following new paragraph

"(2) The Board may a1so appoint a substitute apothe­

cary and a substitute assistant apothecary to sit on the Com­

mission in lieu of the apothecary or the assistant apothecary,

as the case may be, when such apothecary 01' assistant apothe­

cary is unable to sit on the Commission for any lawful reason. ".

In regulation 4 of the principal regulations, for the words "the

elected members" there shall be substituted the worcts "the elected mem­

bers or the additional members".
