Ports (Amendment) Regulations, 1981

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 12 of the Ports

Ordinance, 1962, the Minister of Development, Energy, Port and Tele­

communications has made the fol1owing regulations:-

These regulations may be cited as the Ports (Amendment) Re­

gulations, 1981 , and sha11 be read and construed as one with the Ports

Regulations, 1966, hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations".

For regulation 69 of the principal regulations there sha11 be

substituted the following

"69. Normally no port work sha11 be performed on the thirty­

first day of March, Good Friday, the first day of May, Christmas

Day and New Year's Day, on the afternoon of the twenty-fourth

December <Christmas Eve) and after 5 p.m. on the thirty-first De­

cember (New Year's Eve)

Provided that on such days and afternoons port work

authorised by the Director of Ports under the provisions of the Port

Workers Ordinance, 1962, may be performed.".
