Guest Houses and Holiday Furnished Premises (Amcndment)
Regulations, 1981
IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 12 of the Guest
Houses and Ho1iday Furnished Premises Act, 1974, the Minister of
Tourism, with the concurrence of the Minister of Finance, Customs and
People's Financial Investments, has made the following regulations:-
l. These regulations may be cited as the Guest Houses and
Holiday Furnished Premises (Amendment) Regulations, 1981, and shall
be read and construed as one with the Guest Houses and Holiday
Furnished Premises Regulations, 1976, hereinafter referred to as "the
principal regulations".

In regulation 8 of the principal regulations for the words "The
Board may at any time" there shall be substituted the words "The Board
may at any time, with the approva l of the Minister,".
For the Eighth Schedule to the principal regulations, there
shall be substituted the following

Annual Lkence Fee
l. Any house in which accommodation
to a guest is provided in terms of section
llA (1) of the Act-
(a) if the period covered by the
licence does not exceed 3 months

(b) if the period covered by the
licence exceeds 3 months, or where such
licence has been renewed in the same
year

2. Any house given on lease or on
emphyteusis to a person who is not a citizen
of Malta or which is occupied under any
title by such person in terms of section llA
