PORT WORKERS ORDINANCE,

(ORDINANCE NO. XIV OF 1962)

Port Workers (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations, 1981

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 of the Port

Workers Ordinance. 1962, the Minister of Development, Energy, Port

and Telecommunications, with the concurrence of the Minister of Fin­

ance, Customs and People's Financial Investments has made the follow­

ing regulations:-

(l) These regulations may be cited as the Port Workers

(Amcndment) (No. 4) Regulations, 1981, and shall be read and construed

as one with the Port Workers Regulations, 1966, hereinafter referred to

as "the principal regulations".

(2) These regu!ations shall be deemed to have

come into

force on the 1st January, 1980.

For paragraph (1) of regulation 31 of the principal regulations

there shall be subsituted the following new paragraph

"(1) The Minister responsible for ports may authorise the

payment out of the Fund of a cost of living increase or bonus or of

any other increase in the wages of port workers together with a

percentage thereon as an administrative charge by the Manager,

Port Work Scheme at such rates and under such conditions as he

may from time and time prescribe.

For the purposes of this paragraph the percentage Iaid

down in regulation 13 of these regulations shall apply.".
