SaJe of Commodities (Control) (Amendment) Regulations, 1980

IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Supp1ies

and Services Act, 1947, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Paras­

tatal and People's Industries has made the following regulations:-

L These regulations may be cited as the Sale of Commodities

(Control) (Amendment) Regulations, 1980, and shall be read and

construed <IS one with the Sa.le of Commodities (Control) Regula­

tions, 1972, hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations".

Paragraph (4) of regulation 23 of the principal regulations

shalI be amended as follows:-

(a) in the second proviso thereto, the words "in contra­

vening regulation 8 or paragraphs (2) or (3) of regulation 9 or

regulation 9A of these regulations, or" shaH be deleted; and

(b) in the third proviso thereto, for the words "regulation

8A or regulation 10 of these regulations," there shaH be substitu­

ted the words "regulation 8, or regulation 8A, or paragraphs (2)

or (3) of regulation 9, or regulation 9A, or regulation 10 of these

regulations," and immediatelv after the words "one thousand

pounds" there shall be addeĊl the words "or to imprisonment

for a period not exceeding six months, or to both such fine and

imprisonment.".
