Use of Confetti and Other Materials at Events at L-Imdina

(L-Imdina Local Council) Bye-Laws, 2014

IN exercise of the powers conferred by articles 34, 35(8) and 60

of the Local Councils Act, the L-Imdina Local Council has made the

following Bye-Laws:-

The title of these Bye-Laws is Use of Confetti and Other

Materials at Events at L-Imdina (L-Imdina Local Council) Bye-Laws,

2014.

In these Bye-Laws, unless the context otherwise requires

"applicant" means the person who applies to the Local Council

under the provisions of bye-law 3;

"the Act" means the Local Councils Act;

"confetti" means small pieces of paper or other materials;

"the Council" means the L-Imdina Local Council;

"other materials" means any substance of whatever form and

nature.

1 Subject to any permit, authorization, or licence required

under any law, no person shall throw confetti or other materials at an

event taking place in the locality of L-Imdina without the written

autorization of the Council.

3.2 Such authorization may be granted after a written

application to the Council.

Any person who is in breach of the provisions of bye-law

3, or any condition of the authorization given by virtue thereof shall,

on conviction, be liable to a fine (ammenda) of seventy euro (€70.00)

for such contravention.

The Council reserves the right to clean up the confetti or

other materials thrown at an event without the authorization or in

breach of any conditions imposed by the Local Council, at the

expenses of the person contravening any of the provisions of these

Bye-Laws.
