MARRIAGE LEGACIES (GOZO)

(ADMINISTRATION AND ELECTION)

ORDINANCE

To repeal Ordinance No. 1 of 1843 and Ordinance No. VIII of 1858 and

to make provision for the administration of certain marriage legacies and

for the election thereto.

Enacted by ORDINANCE XXXVIII of 1940, as amended by Legal Notice

4 of 1963.

This Ordinance may be cited as the Marriage Legacies

(Gozo) (Administration and Election) Ordinance.

The administration of the marriage legacies founded in the

Island of Gozo by Salvatore Refalo, Domenica Vassallo, Angelo

Fantino, Perna Critelli and Giovanni Pace shall be vested in the

Secretary for Gozo Affairs or other officer to be designated by the

Prime Minister.

(1) The right of election to the legacies mentioned in

article 2 shall be vested in a Board consisting of the Commissioners

of Charity for Gozo and of a representative appointed on that behalf

by the Bishop of Gozo for the time being.

(2) The representative of the Bishop of Gozo shall preside at

the meetings of the Board.
