ACT No. XXXII of 2025

AN ACT to amend the Authority for Transport in Malta Act, Cap. 499

and to provide for the powers and functions with regard to Civil

Aviation within the Authority for Transport in Malta.

BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and

consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament

assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

The short title of this Act is the Authority for Transport in Short title.

Malta (Amendment) Act, 2025, and this Act shall be read and

construed as one with the Authority for Transport in Malta Act, Cap. 499.

hereinafter referred to as the "principal Act''.

Article 9 of the principal Act shall be amended as follows

Amendment of

article 9 of the

principal Act.

(a) in paragraph (r) thereof the words ''and incidents.''

shall be substituted by the words ''and incidents;'';

(b) immediately after paragraph (r) thereof, as amended,

there shall be added the following new paragraph

''(s) to manage the State Safety Programme (SSP) in

accordance with applicable EU legislation and

International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Standard

and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and any related

guidance material including, but not limited to ICAO

Safety Management documentation, as appropriate.''.

In item 5 of the First Schedule to the principal Act

immediately after the words ''for aircraft registration'' there shall be

added the words '', management of the State Safety Programme (SSP)''.
