ACT No. IV of 2018

AN ACT to amend the Constitution of Malta and Various Electoral

Laws.

BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and

consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament

assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

The short title of this Act is the Constitution of Malta and

Various Electoral Laws (Amendment) Act, 2018.

PART I

Amendments to the Constitution of Malta

The provisions of this Part amend the Constitution of Malta

and they shall be read and construed as one with the Constitution of

Malta, hereinafter in this Part referred to as "the Constitution".

In article 53 of the Constitution immediately after the words

"shall not be qualified to be so elected unless," there shall be added the

words "that person has attained the age of eighteen years and" and for

the words "article 57" there shall be substituted the words "paragraphs

(a) and (c) of article 57".

In paragraph (h) of article 54 of the Constitution the words Amendment of

"House of Representatives." shall be substituted by the words "House article

54 of the

Constitution.

be added the following new paragraph

"(i) if he has not yet attained the age of eighteen years.".

In paragraph (b) of article 57 of the Constitution, the words Amendment of

Amendments to the General Elections Act

The provisions of this Part amend the General Elections Act Amendments to
