AN ACT to amend the Authority for Transport in Malta Act,

BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and

consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament

assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:-

Art. 1 — ACT No. XXXV of 2015 AN ACT to amend the Authority for Transport in Malta Act, BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:- Open official source

The short title of this Act is the Authority for Transport in Short title.

Malta (Amendment) Act, 2015, and this Act shall be read and

construed as one with the Authority for Transport in Malta Act, Cap. 499.

hereinafter referred to as ''the principal Act''.

Art. 2 — ACT No. XXXV of 2015 AN ACT to amend the Authority for Transport in Malta Act, BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:- Open official source

Article 2 of the principal Act shall be amended as follows

Amendment of

article 2 of the

principal Act.

(a) immediately after the definition ''road'' there shall be

added the following new definition

'' ''road transport'' means the transport of

persons or goods by land;''; and

(b) for the definition ''vehicle'' there shall be substituted

the following

'' ''vehicle'' includes any motor vehicle,

carriage, karrozzin, cart, bicycle, motor-cycle,

trailer, semi-trailer, articulated vehicle, road train,

railway rolling stock, articulate bus or other means

of transport by road or by rail for the conveyance

of persons or transport of goods;''.

In article 7 of the principal Act for the words ''the

Authority shall have the following powers and functions specifically

in connection with roads and transport by road'' there shall be

substituted the words ''the Authority shall have the following powers

and functions specifically in connection with roads and railways and

transport by road and by rail''.

Art. 4 Amendment of article 43 of the principal Act. — ACT No. XXXV of 2015 AN ACT to amend the Authority for Transport in Malta Act, BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:- Open official source

In sub-article (1) of article 43 of the principal Act for the

words ''any matter relating to transport by road, sea or air'' there shall

be substituted the words ''any matter relating to transport by road, rail,

sea or air''.
