ACT No. XXIII of 2015

AN ACT to amend the Airports and Civil Aviation (Security)

BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and

consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament

assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:-

The short title of this Act is the Airports and Civil Aviation Short title.

(Security) (Amendment) Act, 2015, and this Act shall be read and

construed as one with the Airports and Civil Aviation (Security) Act Cap. 405.

hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act".

Sub-article (1) of article 3 of the principal Act shall be Amendment of

article 3 of the

amended as follows

principal Act.

(a)

in paragraph (f) thereof, for the words "in Malta."

there shall be substituted the words "in Malta;"; and

(b) immediately after paragraph (f) thereof, there shall

be added the following new paragraph

"(g) to establish administrative penalties for

failure to comply with the provisions of this Act

where such failure is not already subject to other

punitive measures of a criminal nature or for the

payment of adminstrative fines in lieu of criminal

proceedings, which administrative fines shall not

be in an amount of more than five thousand euro,

and to establish the procedures for the imposition

and collection of such administrative fines and to

provide for any other administrative measures that

may be taken in default of payment in respect of

the person who has failed to pay.".
