ACT No. XXXVI of 2014

AN ACT to amend the Social Security Act, Cap.318.

BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and

consent of the House of Representatives, in this present Parliament

assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

The short title of this Act is the Social Security Short title.

(Amendment) Act, 2014, and this Act shall be read and construed as

one with the Social Security Act, hereinafter referred to as "the Cap. 318.

principal Act".

In article 2 of the principal Act, for the definition "Third Amendment of

article 2 of the

Pension" there shall be substituted the following

principal Act.

" "Third Pension" means a retirement

scheme set up as a personal retirement

scheme in terms of the Special Funds

(Regulation) Act or the Retirement Pensions

Act;".

Sub-article (1) of article 64D of the principal Act shall be Amendment of

article 64D of

substituted by the following

the principal

Act.

"(1) The Minister may, with the

concurrence of the Minister responsible for

finance, provide for exemptions, deductions

against chargeable income, or relief from

income tax in respect of contributions made

by any person to a Third Pension which

provide for the payment of a regular income

or other benefits to such persons and, or their

dependants in line with the provisions of the

Special Funds (Regulation) Act or the

Retirement Pensions Act.".
