of the firumCial year 1997.

BE IT ENACTED by the President , by and with the advice and

con!!ent of the House of Represe ntatives. in this pre!!ent Parliament

assembled, and by the authority of the same . as follow s:-

I. This Act may be cited as the Second (1997) Appropriation

Act. 1997.

2, A sum not exceeding thiny nine million, lheee hundred and

fifteen thousand . nine hundred and ninety six Malte!!e Liri to meet

expenditure in respect of financial year 1997 under the Votes specified

in the First Schedule 10 this Act shall be and the same is hereby charged

upon the Consolidated Fund.

A funhcr sum not exceeding nine Malte!!e Liri, 10 meet

expenditure in respect of the financial year 1997 under the Votes

specified in the Second Schedule to this Act shan be and the same is

hereby charged upon thc Consolidated Fund, provided that such sum

sha!1 be trans ferred 10 the Contingencies Fund in rep lacement of

withdrawals made out of this Fund to co ver the various services

detailed in regard to such VO les ill the Supplementary Estimates of

Expenditure for the financial year 1997.
