BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and

conse nt of the House of Represcnlll1ives, in this prc:sc: nl Parliament

assembled , and by ltu: authorit yof the same , as follows: -

I . This Act may he cited as the Local Loon Act. 1993.

(I) Subject 10 the provisions of this Act, the Government of

Malla may raise in Malta by way of loan a sum of money nol exceeding

twenty-eight million nine hundred thousand Mallese !in.

(2) For the purpose of raising the loan as aforesaid , the

Ministe r responsible for finance is hereby authorised 10 i$Sue $lock in

Malla under the provisions of the Local Loons ( Registered Stock and

Securities) O rdinance . 1959; and the loan made undcrthe provisions of

this lIetIion shall be made on such terms and conditions as the ~id

Minister may approve.

J. Any money borrowed under the authority of this Act shall be

appropriated and applied for th e purpose of making good the deficit

incurred by the Consolidated Fund to meel expenditure during the year

1992. A
