Society (hereinafter in Ihis Act refc lTcd 10 as the Socitl)') w li<Jol;e st atute

is reproduced in the First Schedule 10 th is Act is a voluntary aid society

independent of and au:<iliary to the public authoril ie~ in the

humanitaria n fie ld on the ba.i~ of the First Geneva Convention of th e

12th August, 1949 for the Ameliorati on of the Condition of the

Wounded and Sick. in Armed Forct:~ in the Field.

] . The Society shall be autonomous and sha ll adhere to the ruks

and pri nciplC$ of the International Red Cr~ and Red Crescent

4 • . (1) The Society Shall have the right in conformi ty with the

ions listed in the Second Schedule to Ihis Act (he reinafter

referred 10 as the listed conventions) to use the emblem of the Red

Cr05S on a white grou nd formed by reversing the colours of the Swi~

Confederation.

Society Or any Oilier person authorised under the provisions a f lhe

listed conventions 10 use for any purpose whatever t he emble m of

the Red Cross, the Red Cresce nt Or any di§linclive emblem as is

referred \0 in Article 38 of tile Geneva Convention for Ihe

Amelioration orlhe Condit ion orthe Wounded and Sick in Armed

Forces in the Field of Augun 121h 1949. an y colourable imitation

(3) The Society with the concurrence of the Minister

responsible for Civil Protection may by regulations 10 be published in

the Guettc make provisio n generall y for regu lat ing the UJ;e of the

in accordance with the wbscction man not be deemed to be used in
