BE IT ENACTED by the President, by and with the advice and

consent of the Uouse of Representatives , in this present Parlia~nt

a&5Cmbled. and by the authority of the same. as follows:-

(I) 1bis Act may be cited as the Malta Stock Exchange 5IIon ,,, ..

(Amendment ) Act , 1992, and shall be read and construed as onc with com_n«n><".

(2) Thi. Act shall oome into force on such date as the

For the word "Borsa" whe rever;t occurs in the principal Act.

there shall be substituted the word "Borta".

(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of any other

law. the trarl5fcr of securities in quoted rompanies need nol

be IlUIde by an in$tnuncnl in writing.

(3) 'The provUions of subsections (3) and (4) of

section 1966 ofthc Civil Code:: shall nol apply with respect to

quoted securities and the privilege referred to in TItle XX I of

Part 11 of Book 5eI:ond of the $aid Code shall ariiie where the

pledge has been duly registered with the ElIdiangc in

aa:ordaooe with the bye laws. ~.

5. In subsection (2) of section 31 of the principal Act, for the
