BE IT ENACTE D by the President. by and with the advice aTld

consent of the House of Representatives. in this present Parliament

assembled. and by the authority of the sa me . as fol1ows: -

This Act may be cited as the Shops and Hawkers (Business Skoo1 ,in_.

Hours) (Amendment) Act. 1992. and it shall be read and construed as

one with the Shops and Hawkers (Business Hours) Act. hereiTlafter COp_ ISS.

referred to as "the principal Act".

Section 6 of the principal Act shal1 be amended as follows

(a) the present section 6hall be renumbered as 6ubsection (I)

thereof; an d

(b) immediately after subsection (!) tbereof as renumbered.

there shall be added the following new subsection

M(2) Saving the provisions of subsection (I ) of this

section. any shop may remain open for the serving of

customers after 7 p.m . but not later than 10 p. m. on anyone

day in any calendar week not being a Sunday or a public

holiday

Provided that any liCC'nsee of a shop who inte nds to

avail himself of the provision of this subsection sh all inform in

writing the Director of Labour and Emigration not less than
