BE IT ENACfED by the President. by and with the advice and

consent of the House of Representatiyes. in this plaenl " arlia ment

assembled, and by the authority orlhe &ame. as follows:-

Thi~ Act may be cited n

the Local Loan Act . 1991.

(I) Subject to the provisions of Ihili Act, the Government of

Malta may raise in Ma Ua by way of loan a sum of fllOrtey not uceeding

tllirty·four million fou r hundred thousand Malt ese Un.

(2) For the purpose of raising the loan as afoTCS/lid, the

Minister responsible for finance is hereby authorised \0 issue slock in

Malta under the provisions of the Local Loans (Registered Stock and

Securities) Ordinance; and the loan made under the provisions of this

section .hall be made on such terms and conditions as the $;lid Ministe r

may approve.

Any money borrowed under the aut hority of this Act shall be

appropriated and applied for the purpose of making good the: deficit

incurred by the Consolidated Fund to meet expend;t ure during the year
