I. (I) This Act may be cited as the Commissioner of Land

(A mendment) Act. 1991. and shall be re ad aod construed as onc with

the Commissioner of L.and Ordinance. hereina fter referred 10 as ~the

(2) This Ael shall come inlo force on such dale as Ihe Prime

Minister may be notice in th e Gazette establish.

time be specified in an Order of the I'resident pub li shed in the

Gazette . th~ Malta Development Corporation e$labli~hed under

section J of tin: Malta De\'CIopmenl Corporation Act shall e~ercise

the rights and responsihilities refe rred 10 in this !>Cetion. and the

provisions of the Land (Compulsory Eviction ) Act, and the

Disposa l of Go~mment Land Act, shall for the purpose of any

such land be read and construed as if any reference therein to the

Commissioner of Land Were a refe ren<:e 10 Ihe Chairman of the

Malta Development Corporation. and the r roviSions of seclion
