AN ACT 10 umtrnd Ih~ Enginuring P,of~ssio" ACI, 1988.

BE IT ENACTED by the Presiden t, by and wit h the advice and

consen t of the House of Represent~ tives . in this prese nt Parli ament

a~mbl ed. and by the 3utho rity of the same. as follows:-

I. (I ) This Act may be cited as the Engineeri ng Professio n

(Amend men t) Act. 1990. and shall be read and construed as one with

the Engineering Profession Act. 1988, herei nafte r referred to as "th e

principal Aet"·.

(2) This Act sh all be dee med 10 have come into force o n the

22nd February. 1988.

Section 6 of the princi pal Act shall be amended as follows

(a ) the second proviso to subsection (I) thereof sha ll be

deleted; and

(b) for paragraph (c) of subsect ion (2) lhe reof. the re shall be

substituted th e followi ng

-(c) Unti l such time as the Min ister ma y by notice in the

Gazelle establish. paragra phs (b) aod (c) of subsection (I) of

this se>:tio n shall not be in force, and the Mi nister shall appoint

silt membe rs of the Board fro m among perwns who in his

opinion qual ify for the warrant. Such members sha ll hold

office for a period not exceedi ng one year and sha ll be eligible

for rea ppointment .".
