BE IT ENACfE D by Ihe President. by and with the advice and

consent of Ihe House of Representatives. in this prese nt Parliame nt

assembled, a nd by IlIe authority of the SoUme , as (0110W$:-

I. Th is Act may be cited as the f nemalla (Amendment) Act.

1989. and shall be read and construed as one with the Enema/ta Act ,

19n, hereinafter referred to as Mthe pri ncipal Act".

For subsection (1) of sect ion 35 of the princi pal ACllhe re shall

be substituted th e following

"(I) Except with Ihe approval o f Ihe Minister granted fo r

special reasons, Enemal!a 5hallllOI enler into any contract for the

supply of goods o r materials. o the r than petroleum. or for lhe

execution of works, whkh is estimated by the Board to e~ceed in

value the sum of ten thousa nd lino or sueh sum as the House of

Represen tatives ma y by resolution establish. unless after notice of

the intention of the Corporatton to en ter into the contract has been

published and competitive tenders have been issued .~.
